Tens of thousands descend upon Panama City Beach over the weekend
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Over the weekend, tens of thousands descended upon Panama City Beach to enjoy two major events after both were canceled last year due to the pandemic.
After being postponed two different times, Gulf Coast Jam returned to Frank Brown Park, where thousands of music lovers gathered over the three-day span to hear a number of country artists including Lynard Skynard, Brad Paisley, and Luke Bryan.
Just down the road, the UNwineD Festival returned to Aaron Bessant Park and saw major success as it sold out both Friday and Saturday.
”Two hundred tickets. We did sell out for the Friday kickoff party. Saturday, we actually had 1,600 tickets, and we sold out for that event as well. And then we have heard from Gulf Coast Jam that they had around 70,000 people all three days at their event as well,” said Lacee Rudd, public relations manager for Visit Panama City Beach.
Rudd says both events have a major impact on the local economy each year.
Gulf Coast Jam will return on September 3rd for Labor Day Weekend. For tickets and lodging packages visit their website.
