PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Officials with the Panama City Police Department said they arrested Lyndon Howard Hunter, 51, Thursday for allegedly traveling to meet a 17-year-old for sex.

Investigators said they were contacted by Hunter via text message. Authorities said they led him to believe he was speaking with a 17-year-old girl. He allegedly continued to make arrangements for a meeting despite knowing the girl was a minor. They said Hunter asked for a prostitute and allegedly said he’d pay $50 for 15 minutes.

Officials said Hunter sent a photo of himself, and when he arrived at the meeting spot, authorities arrested him. Officers said Hunter claimed he thought he was meeting an 18-year-old.

Hunter is facing multiple charges, including traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity, misuse of a 2-way communication device, and procuring a prostitute.
