PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - School is back in session starting August 10th for Bay District Students. And the Bay County Health Department is reminding parents about “back to school shots” for their children.

The shots are free through the health department. And due to Bay County’s COVID-19 response, all immunization services must be by appointment only.

The Bay County Health Department is encouraging parents to go ahead and make appointments for those back-to-school shots now.

“We are right at a little over two weeks for the first day of school, so now would be a good time. Don’t wait until the last minute. On our end, it is a little bit of a process to get you guys ready for going back to school. But now is certainly a perfect time to think about that,” Community Health Nursing Director Kayla Barron said.

Some shots are required to attend public school here in Florida. You can go ahead and schedule an appointment for your child. Click here for the Bay County Health Department’s website.
