PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A home in Panama City received significant smoke and fire damage Friday morning.

Panama City Fire Department crews responded to the building on Clay Avenue around 6:12 a.m.

Firefighters were on the scene within four minutes after the alarm sounded. While some crews fought the fire, others made sure everyone was out. They say all three people and their dogs were able to get out safely.

Due to the damage to the home, firefighters notified Red Cross to help the victims.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
