Parker hires new Fire Chief
PARKER, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Parker’s former Fire Chief, now Mayor, has put the gavel on the city’s new Fire Chief.
In a 5-0 vote, the Parker City Council has hired Matthew Jensen from the Pensacola area. The City Council interviewed five candidates before deciding on Jensen Friday morning. Parker Mayor Andrew Kelly is happy the vote was unanimous.
“I was very pleased because I prefer that everybody works off the same sheet of music, all together, and it was pretty obvious that everybody liked (Jensen) best,” Kelly said. The Mayor says it will take a few weeks for new Fire Chief Jensen to relocate to the area and get to work leading the city’s fire department.
