PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - It’s been another stormy day for NWFL with rain totals over the last 24 hours ranging from about an inch of accumulation to more than five inches of rain. The accumulations will only continue to grow throughout the day today as the outer bands of Ida sweep through.

We’ll see showers and thunderstorms throughout the day today and into the evening. There is a slight risk of severe weather for NWFL. This means that we’ll see scattered severe storms today. This brings a low end chance of tornadoes, about a five percent chance. The severe storms that do develop will bring heavy rain, hail up to two inches in diameter, and gusts up to 40 miles per hour.

Tomorrow we’ll see showers and thunderstorms as the environment will remain moist, however, the activity will be scattered and a lot lighter compared to what we’re seeing today.

Temperatures will be on the cooler side today thanks to the clouds and rain. Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 80s this afternoon.
