PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Good Friday morning everyone!

A cold front moved through overnight brought a little bit of change to the Panhandle today.

First off, there’s a less muggy, more comfortable feel today as drier air filters in from the north behind the front. This airflow will keep dew points in the 60s today so it’s going to have a nice feel to the air throughout the day and into tonight. Dew points will creep back up into the 70s come Sunday as the airflow becomes more easterly/southeasterly and moisture gets pulled into NWFL from the Gulf.

The front did also help drop temperatures off ever so slightly this morning. Many of us woke up to temperatures in the 60s this morning. However, daytime temperatures won’t be any cooler. The afternoon highs will actually be near seasonal, but the difference will be in the heat indexes. Because of the lower humidity, “feels like” temperatures will be close to the actual temperature.

The drier air is also suppressing rain chances for today. We can expect to see sunny, clear skies throughout the day and into tonight.
