PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Happy Labor Day! It’s been a gorgeous and fairly quiet holiday weekend for NWFL.

Today we saw stray storms pop up during the afternoon with the heat of the day and along the sea breeze front, but other than that most of us saw plenty of sunshine! Tonight will be a quiet evening with a few clouds around, however, we could see a few showers pop up early tomorrow morning along the coastline. Tomorrow we’ll see scattered showers and a few thunderstorms in the afternoon. Better rain chances will come midweek as a batch of tropical moisture moves into the Panhandle.

The warm and muggy feel has returned to the area as the airflow becomes more southerly again. Tonight’s temperatures will sit in the low to mid-70s, but many of us will have feels like temperatures in the 80s overnight. Tomorrow’s temperatures will be pretty similar to today with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s and heat indexes in the mid-90s.
