PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - It was another active day for Northwest Florida as moisture continues to flow into the area.

The remnants of Nicholas continued to keep the environment moist today so we saw showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. This evening we’ll see a few stray storms, but things will be fairly dry and quiet for the first half of the night. After midnight, we’ll see better chances for showers and thunderstorms to return. Many of us, mainly along the coastline, will be waking up to storms. Unfortunately, the rain isn’t going away this weekend, but we will have breaks in the rain through the day. Make sure to keep the rain gear around all weekend long.

Temperatures tonight will be pretty close to the seasonal average. Overnight temperatures will sit in the low 70 across Northwest Florida. Daytime temperatures this weekend will top out in the low 80s which is a little cooler than normal. Typical high temperatures in September would be in the upper 80s.
