LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Update 12/6/21 5:48 p.m.

According to Lynn Haven Police Chief Ricky Ramie, the three boys involved in Sunday’s fatal stabbing incident initially went to Cain Griffin Park on Sunday to take part in a drug deal.

“They came here specifically, one of the kids, to play basketball and then he later met up with these two gentlemen to sell them some marijuana,” Chief Ramie said.

Chief Ramie said that the two victims had planned to rob Savien Craven, 15.

“It appears in our preliminary that the suspect they were trying to rob him,” Chief Ramie said. “He brought a steak knife into the bathroom and he cut the one that stole the marijuana from him and then chased the second one down after the threat was over and stabbed him. Ultimately he succumbed to those injuries.”

Ramie says several witnesses were at the park when the stabbing happened.

“People were walking dogs actually one person I found out was walking a dog that stopped to help the young man that passed away to help put pressure on the wound,” Chief Ramie said.

According to Ramie, there has also been false information spread across social media regarding the incident.

“If you don’t know the facts keep your opinions to yourself,” Chief Ramie said. “You have families that are hurting, you have fellow classmates that are hurting. Think about how many people have been affected by what happened in our city last night and just continuing to put venom on social media does not help this community heal.”

The suspect made his first appearance before a judge Monday afternoon. According to Ramie, the charges remain the same.

Officers are referring to it as a “drug deal gone wrong.” One teenager is dead, another is in the hospital, and a third is now in custody.
