PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Good Wednesday morning everyone!

It’s a slightly active morning with a few thunderstorms passing through overnight. We’ll see a resurgence of some scattered storms by the late morning and midday across the Panhandle today.

Meanwhile, we’re waking up quite foggy! A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 9amCDT. Visibility will be below a mile in many locations this morning. We can expect a slower commute in some of the thicker spots. So give yourself a few minutes extra to get where you’re going this morning in anticipation of slower travels.

Otherwise, we’re waking up mild and muggy with temperatures getting started in the upper 60s. Temperatures today warm into the low to mid 70s for afternoon highs. It’s not cool enough for a jacket, but maybe something light and waterproof for the damp feel and anticipation of scattered storms developing by lunch across NWFL. You’ll also want something to cover up in during the drive home from work as we’ll cool down later this afternoon into the evening.

The cold front that stalled out across the Panhandle will get extra support to form storms into the midday today. These storms will pass through rather quickly, but could contain a brief downpour as they do between 10am and 2pm. The front will get pushed to our southeast into the afternoon allowing for the storms to move out and some sunshine to open up by the mid afternoon today.

With the front to our south tonight we’ll cool off into the 50s. We’ll stay dry with mostly cloudy skies tonight and tomorrow. Comfortable temperatures return on Thursday with highs in the low 70s tomorrow afternoon.

The tail end of the front to our west will pair up with a warm front developing off an area of low pressure across the Plains and Western Gulf on Thursday and push back into our area late in the day with a small shot at a few showers perhaps by the late day or evening. A few spotty showers can’t be ruled out in the warm and moist air moving in for Friday’s forecast with highs reaching the upper 70s near 80 degrees.

Bottom Line...

For today, foggy conditions give way to cloudy skies and a chance for a passing storm through the midday followed by some sun and clouds mixed into the mid afternoon. Highs today reach the low to mid 70s. Your 7 Day Forecast has us drier setup for Thursday and Friday with a return of rain possible late in the day Thursday or Thursday evening.
