PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Happy Thursday! We’re nearly at the end of our soggy pattern!
Today we saw widely scattered storms across the Panhandle and this evening we could see a few more moving in from the north. There’s a frontal boundary sitting across Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi and some storms are coming off of it. Some of the storms are strong due an unstable environment through Alabama. There’s instability due to converging air at the surface with moisture along the front that’s meets up with moisture from the Gulf. As these storms trek south, the environment isn’t very favorable for strong storms, but we could see an isolated strong storm mainly north of I-10 late this evening. Heading into Friday, the storms will start off scattered and become more widely scattered heading through the day.
